Powerwalking

Imagine yourself nicely walking on the boardwalk alongside the beach, enjoying a quiet Saturday morning. All of a sudden you hear aggressive footsteps behind you, which are approaching you at high speed. What to do? Where to go? Where to run? Is this normal? And what about your nice, peaceful walk along the beach?
In Galway, people are very active. They are completely into the sports, what I have seen of it it could be said to be a sport, of powerwalking. It might sound kind of scary when you are strawling alongside the beach and you hear footsteps behind you, but the powerwalkers are quite a peaceful people with no bad intentions, unless you get in their way and slow them down :).
Just walking alongside the beach for 30 minutes, one will see masses of women and girls walking by in a powerful pace. Jogging is out, powerwalking is in!!!!! It is, however, quite intimidating to the people who normally already walk in a fast pace and who are now passed by by these powerwalkers. This phenomenon will be taped on camera soon as a certain person will be living near the beach soon and more stories will follow. For now, this person will continue with running, instead of powerwalking. I rather sweat, than walk like a maniac. But chapeau for those who do it everyday!

McDonalds, McDonaghs and Supermacs

Are they all in love with McDonalds and do they want part of the profits or is it something typically Irish with all the Mc’s?
After a thorough comparative study between McDonalds and Supermacs, undersigned is still firmly convinced that McDonalds is the true master, at least with regard to the French fries and the nice but dry hamburgers. McDawes has not been included in this research, since it covers a completely different area of the food industry. It is a fish food chain or fish fast food take away restaurant, something……….. Yes, Chantal has landed in fast food heaven :). Fortunately, at upper Salthill, my future residence, all these wonderful fast food chains are combined. One has the excellent choice of pizza, subway, mocha beans, Chinese take away, thai palace, Supermacs etc.
