Day 1: Delhi
16 December: The first day of our trip kicked off with an early morning flight forcing us to wake up at 4.15 am. Yikes. My French travel mate, Aurelie, came to pick me up by rickshaw at 5 am, after which we set off to the Santa Cruz airport. After a 3-hours flight, with a stop over in some place in the middle of nowhere, we arrived in crazy Delhi. We immediately noticed a hugh difference with Bombay. The whole city just has a different feel to it. The streets are more wide, more clean, less people sleeping on the pavement, less dust, no garbage, more green, less people staring and begging, more Europeans etc. All in all: nicer than Bombay, for me at least. The downside is that this city is covered with fumes/smog. I have met people afterwards who already went insane in Delhi. Well, my advice: never come to Bombay if Delhi already does that to you, cause for the me coming from Bombay, Delhi was heaven on earth and I could even hear my own thoughts again. We met up with two friends of the Irish Centre for Human Rights who work at the Delhi Headquarters of the India Centre for Human Rights and Law. They took us around Delhi at a nice and relaxing pace.Sites visited: Connaught place, the bazar (one of many), vijay chowk and the India Gate.
Travel time: 3 hour flight.
Temperature difference: 25 degrees celsius.

wowowowow. Seems like someone after all had the chance to have some fun! Please bare that in mind, despite how hard the experience was in India. You were free to travel. You were independent. You enjoyed and will have good memories... Could have been much worse my dear. T
